Club President's Message

Our club got off to a great start this year with a presentation by Prof. Eric Foner, reknowned expert on President Lincoln, at our annual meeting at the Stony Hill Inn on September 15. The club's officers and directors passed muster and were installed, including a President's office of three - Chris Ferrer, Sally Jones and Melinda Maidens. The club honored Chris Ferrer as our Columbian of the Year.

We followed up with a members-only visit to Columbia's world famed Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory on October 3, where we were treated to lectures by researchers on cutting-edge climate topics and had a hands-on visit to the oceanographic, tree-ring and seismology labs.

We're looking forward to offering other stimulating events during the coming months. Do send us your ideas for programs that appeal to you.
